Good to know

The view hits you the second you reach the top of the stairs. Beech Mountain Place sits at nearly 4,600 feet, directly across Beech Mountain Parkway from the ski resort entrance (First Chair Coffee is right there too) — yet it's tucked on a quiet, wooded double lot where you can hear the creek running below the deck and watch deer wander the yard. It's a 5-minute walk to the slopes, but set just far enough off the resort to keep those long-range mountain views all year, even in summer when the slope-side homes look out on empty fields. You enter on the lower level and head up into an open, light-filled great room wrapped in a wall of windows. Reclining leather seating gathers around a stacked-stone gas fireplace and a large-screen TV with live and streaming channels. Warm wood, streaming sunlight, and treetop views give the whole main floor an airy, on-vacation feel. MAIN LEVEL - Great room with wall-of-windows views, a gas fireplace, and reclining leather furniture - Full kitchen open to the living and dining area — genuinely well stocked, with drip, Keurig, and French-press coffee and every tool you could want - Dining table for eight - Master bedroom: king bed, TV, and private ensuite bath - Second bedroom: king bed, TV, and a Jack-and-Jill bath - Main deck with the big views, a gas grill, and outdoor dining LOWER LEVEL — a second home under one roof Drop your gear in the ski room (hooks and benches for boots, coats, and skis), then settle into a full second kitchen and living area — perfect for the kids, a second family, or anyone who wants a little space of their own. - Family/bunk room: king bed, twin-over-twin bunk, and queen futon (sleeps up to five), plus a large-screen TV, board games, books, and even a karaoke machine and guitar - Full galley kitchen with its own dishes and cookware - Private ensuite bath - Lower deck with a covered porch swing, seating, and cornhole OUTSIDE Gather around the fire pit under the stars (eight seats built right in), fire up the grill, or slip away to the pair of Adirondack chairs on the little platform past the fire pit — the quietest spot on the property to sip your coffee and listen to the creek. There are even yoga mats for a morning stretch on the deck. THE ESSENTIALS Sleeps 9 across 3 bedrooms and 3 baths - Two mini-split systems for heat and A/C - High-speed WiFi - Washer and dryer - Live + streaming TV - Parking for 5 - Easy self check-in Good to know: the front door is on the lower level with stairs up to the main living area, and from October through March we recommend 4WD/AWD, as mountain roads can get snowy. No pets, no smoking. Whether it's a powder weekend or a lazy summer week in the treetops, Beech Mountain Place is built for gathering — together when you want to be, with plenty of room to spread out when you don't.

Neighborhood

Beech Mountain is unlike anywhere else in the Eastern United States. Perched at 5,506 feet above sea level — the highest incorporated town east of the Rockies — this extraordinary mountain community delivers a way of life that is as exhilarating as it is peaceful. The air is crisp and clean, the scenery is breathtaking in every direction, and the sense of being truly above it all is something every guest feels the moment they arrive. The neighborhood surrounding Beech Mountain High on Saint Andrews Road is quiet, beautifully wooded, and residential — with the prestigious Beech Mountain Club Golf Course running right alongside the street. It is the kind of neighborhood where deer wander through the yard, the only sounds are birdsong and rustling leaves, and the pace of life slows down in the best possible way. Yet despite the tranquility, everything you need is just minutes away. Beech Mountain Ski Resort anchors the community and keeps the mountain buzzing with energy all winter long — skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating all within a five minute drive. Come summer, the resort transforms into a hiker's and mountain biker's paradise. The charming town center offers local dining, shops, and gathering spots that give Beech Mountain its authentic small-town character. Banner Elk, with its lively restaurant scene and boutique shopping, is just 15 minutes down the mountain. Boone, one of Western North Carolina's most beloved towns, is about 30 minutes away and offers everything from craft breweries to live music and farmers markets. Beech Mountain is not just a place to stay. It is a place you will never want to leave.
