The house sits in a beautiful, wooded lot, overlooking the historic New River, and Railroad Grade Road, which is known for its wonderful bike riding accessibility. It is in a quite neighborhood, with homes built about 50 years ago. The house is very private, surrounded by so many trees that you hardly know you have neighbors. A couple of miles up the road is Todd Island, where you can easily access the river, as well as kayaks and tubes for rent. The New River is also a well known destination for fly-fishing. Both Boone and West Jefferson are with 15 minutes of this home, providing local entertainment, restaurants, coffee, shopping, etc.

WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Find us
Most guests find it easiest to explore the area by car. The house is tucked into a quiet, wooded neighborhood, but you’re just a short and scenic drive from Boone and West Jefferson. The roads are well-maintained, with easy access to Railroad Grade Road — a favorite local route for biking because it’s flat and winds along the river. Parking is available right at the house, and it’s simple to load and unload. If you feel like staying nearby, you can bike, walk, or drive to river access points, kayak and tube rentals, and peaceful spots along the New River. For day trips, shops, groceries, restaurants, and coffee are all within about 15 minutes. In winter, check conditions and plan ahead, but generally the drive is straightforward and beautiful year-round.
