The last 0.5 mile to the house is accessed by a gravel driveway. The parking area is gravel with space for 4 vehicles. Most guests choose to get around by car, as the cabin is located in a mountain community with attractions spread out across the area. The final half-mile to the home is gravel, and there is level gravel parking for up to four vehicles, making arrival and unloading simple. Boone, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and New River access points are all an easy drive, and you’ll find restaurants, shops, and groceries nearby. Roads in the mountains can be winding in places, so plan a little extra time and enjoy the scenery along the way. From November through March, winter weather can change quickly. 4WD/AWD and/or chains are strongly recommended during snowy or icy conditions so you can travel comfortably and safely. With normal weather, getting around is straightforward — and the drives themselves are part of the experience.
