About
Welcome to Peak a View, perched at 4,200 feet inside gated Eagles Nest, minutes from Beech Mountain. Long-range views spill across three states from the covered deck, above a valley and creek. Two king ensuites that sleep 4, with A/C, a gas-log fireplace, a granite kitchen, and a gas grill. Soak in the private hot tub, gather at the fire pit, and walk to the playground and courts at Camp Eagles Nest. Self check-in, free parking, the High Country minutes away.
Good to know
Peak a View earns its name from the deck. The ridgelines run out in front of you across three states, with a valley and a creek folded in below, and at 4,200 feet the air does that thing where it's fifteen degrees cooler than wherever you drove up from. Mornings here are coffee-on-the-deck mornings. Evenings are hot-tub-and-fire-pit evenings. Not much else gets scheduled. Inside, the home is open, bright and comfortable rather than fussy - a place where wet ski gear and a board game on the coffee table both look right. It's a two-bedroom, so it's built for a couple, two couples, or a small family who'd rather have a real kitchen and a real view than extra square footage. The Great Room -Open-plan living and kitchen with plush seating gathered around a gas-log fireplace and a 55" smart TV — the windows do the decorating. A sofa bed here sleeps two more, bringing the home to 6. Dining happens out on the deck, where the view does the rest. The Kitchen - Granite counters, a full appliance package (refrigerator with ice maker, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher), a drip coffee maker, and real cookware, dishes and utensils. The bar seats four, and there's a separate dining area for a proper sit-down. Bedroom 1 - King Ensuite, Main Level - The primary. King bed, 50" smart TV, private full bath. Bedroom 2 - King Ensuite, Main Level - King bed, 50" smart TV, private full bath. Between the two baths you get one walk-in shower and one tiled tub-and-shower combo. Half Bath & Laundry - A powder room off the living area, plus a separate laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer. The Covered Deck - Where the view lives. Gas grill, outdoor seating and dining, and shelter enough that a rainy afternoon out here is a feature and not a problem. The Hot Tub - Private, and set on the ground level - you'll walk down an exterior staircase from the deck to reach it. Say it out loud on a January night, then go anyway. Soaking under this sky is the best thing the house does. The Fire Pit - A fire pit area for s'mores, cold air, and the kind of conversation that runs long. Firewood isn't stocked in the home - grab a bundle in town or ask me and I'll help you sort it. Getting Comfortable - Central and mini-split air conditioning plus heat, so August is cool and February is warm. WiFi throughout with a laptop-friendly workspace if a couple of hours of email is the price of the trip. Smart TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. I provide all the linens, towels and a starter set of toiletries and paper goods to get you through the first day or two. Family-Ready - The Camp Eagles Nest playground, pickleball courts and basketball court are a short walk away, and the community's trails, mini-golf, ropes course and 24/7 general store are a few minutes up the road. Bring your own balls and racquets - the courts are BYO equipment. A Note on Stairs - This is a multi-level mountain home with no elevator. Both bedrooms and the main living space are on one level, but the hot tub is down an exterior staircase and the driveway approach is mountain-steep. Worth knowing if stairs are a factor for anyone in your group. I'm so excited to host you! If you have any questions at all, just reach out. I'm here to help!
Other Details to Note
Self Check-In - Keypad entry at the front door. I'll send your code and turn-by-turn directions before you arrive. Getting Here - Eagles Nest is a large gated community and GPS is not reliable inside it. Use the directions I send you rather than your map app, and screenshot them before you leave town - cell service is patchy on the mountain. Enter through the MAIN gate. The back gate closest to town is owner-only under the POA's rules and you'll be turned around there, which makes for a long backtrack in the dark. Quiet Hours - 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Sound carries a long way up here. Parking - Free parking on site. From November through March, AWD or 4WD is REQUIRED, and chains are sometimes needed. The main roads are plowed, but the grades are steep and the weather at 4,200 feet writes its own rules. There are no refunds for arriving unprepared for winter weather, so please come in the right vehicle. Hot Tub Location - The hot tub is on the GROUND level, reached by an exterior staircase down from the deck. It's private and it's wonderful, but it is a walk outside in whatever the weather is doing. Stairs - Multi-level home, no elevator. Not Child-Proofed - This is a private home, not a rental built for toddlers. There are stairs, a fireplace, and a hot tub, so please keep an eye on little ones. Security Camera - There's a Ring video doorbell at the front door. It covers the entry only. There are no cameras of any kind inside the home. Fire Pit - A fire pit is available on the property. Please put fires fully out before you head in for the night, and never leave one burning unattended. Pets - This home isn't pet friendly. Thank you for leaving the pups at home this trip. Smoking - This is a NON SMOKING PROPERTY, inside and out, and that includes vaping. Bear Country - Please don't leave food or trash outside. The bears here are efficient and unsentimental. Construction - Eagles Nest is still being built out, so you may hear construction somewhere in the community between 7am and 7pm, Monday through Saturday. Community Amenity Fee - The Lodges at Eagles Nest charges an amenity fee for guest use of the community's facilities. It's collected with your reservation. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests. MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YRS OF AGE TO BOOK NCREC License #C41500

Neighborhood
Welcome to The Lodges at Eagles Nest, a private, gated community spread across the ridgelines above Banner Elk. Think of it as a luxury summer camp for grown-ups and families both - high-end living dropped into the middle of the wild outdoors. Peak a View sits at 4,200 feet in the Camp Eagles Nest section, between the Great Camp and the North Pavilion. Community Highlights - As a guest you have access to most of what Eagles Nest offers. The Great Camp is the heart of it: a BBQ pavilion, an amphitheater that hosts the summer concert series from May into November, mini-golf, a ropes course and climbing tower, a playground, and a 24/7 general store for whatever you forgot. Epic Chophouse is open to guests without a membership - soaring ceilings, glass walls, and one of the best dinner views in the High Country. At the North Pavilion you'll find basketball and pickleball courts, a dog park, fire pits, walking trails, and the Sportsman's Grille Wednesday through Sunday. Eagles Nest Winery - Just 3.1 miles up the mountain, in a beautifully converted barn with sweeping views and fire pits on the patio. Day passes run about $25, and visitors must be 16 or older except on Sundays. It's the easiest great evening you'll have all week. Trails - The Woodland Trail System runs for miles through the community, including routes out to waterfalls, and there's disc golf, archery and tennis at Camp Eagles Nest. Bring your own equipment for the courts. Private ATVs aren't permitted in the community and are turned away at the gates. The Seasons - Summer is mild and green, and the concert series runs most weekends. Fall at this elevation is a bucket-list leaf season. Winter turns the whole ridge white, with Beech Mountain 3.5 miles away and Sugar Mountain 13.2. Spring brings wildflowers and the quietest trails of the year. A Few Notes - You'll need a gate pass or code for the main gate, and I'll send it before check-in. The Fitness Center and the locked portion of the Sportsman's Lodge are member-only. And because Eagles Nest is still growing, there's occasional construction visible during the day.
Guest Access
All spaces are available except for locked owner's closets - feel free to enjoy the entire property! That includes the covered deck, the fire pit area, the ground-level hot tub down the exterior stairs, and the driveway parking. As a guest you also have access to most of the Eagles Nest community amenities: the Great Camp, the North Pavilion, Camp Eagles Nest, the trail system, and the winery. The Fitness Center, the Wine & Cigar Bar, and the locked portion of the Sportsman's Lodge are member-only, so those are the two or three doors that won't open for you. Just ask me if you're not sure about a particular spot.
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Find us
Getting around is easy on the paved roads that wind through Eagles Nest and down into Banner Elk. A car is a must up here - for groceries, restaurants, and everything worth driving to. Free parking on site. Once you're inside the gate, use the directions I send rather than GPS. Map apps handle this community badly, cell service is patchy, and the back gate nearest town is owner-only, so the main gate is your way in and out every time. From the house: Eagles Nest Winery 3.1 miles. Beech Mountain Resort 3.5. Elk River Falls 7.4. Banner Elk Winery 8.7. Sugar Mountain Resort 13.2. Grandfather Mountain and the Mile-High Swinging Bridge 20.5. The Blue Ridge Parkway 20.6. Downtown Boone and App State 24.4. In winter, AWD or 4WD is REQUIRED from November through March, and chains are occasionally necessary. The roads are plowed, but they're steep and windy and the weather at this elevation changes fast. Please take it slow on the switchbacks.
