I'm a message away.
Good to know
Raccoon's Paw Lodge is a four-bedroom log cabin built for a crowd, with a two-story great room, exposed timber beams, and windows that pull the surrounding forest right into the living space. It's warm, rustic, and comfortable rather than fussy - the kind of house where muddy boots and a stack of board games both feel at home. Keep an eye out for the Raccoon Paw Print hidden somewhere inside - it's the real story behind the name, and I'm not telling where it is. Main Level - The great room centers on a stacked-stone gas fireplace beneath a vaulted, log-railed loft, opening straight into the kitchen and a farmhouse dining table that seats eight. The kitchen has granite counters, knotty-pine cabinetry, a full stainless appliance suite, and a center island for quick breakfasts. Three bedrooms live on this level - a queen suite, a second queen room, and a twin room with two beds - along with two full bathrooms, one with an indoor jacuzzi soaking tub. Lower Level - A fourth queen bedroom and a third full bathroom are downstairs, along with the game room - a full pool table and air hockey table, with a leather sofa for spectators. Two more sleeping spots are tucked into this level: a bed near the game room and a bonus room with a kid-sized bed and a loveseat, rounding the house out to sleep ten. Outside - A private hot tub sits in its own screened side-deck alcove, and a fire pit is ready for evenings around the fire. Upper and lower decks wrap the house with rocking chairs and cafe seating, and on clear days the great room and upper deck look out over a year-round view of Grandfather Mountain. Family-Ready - Kids' toys and games are already on site, and up to two mature, well-behaved dogs are welcome (large dogs OK). The home isn't child-proofed and the stairs between levels aren't gated, so bring what you'd normally bring for little ones. Getting Comfortable - Central air and heat keep every season easy, WiFi covers the whole house, and there's a dedicated workspace for anyone who needs to check in with the office. The TVs carry the usual streaming services. A Note on Stairs - The home is split across two levels connected by an interior staircase, with no elevator.

Neighborhood
Raccoon's Paw Lodge sits in a gated mountain community off Twin Rivers Drive, tucked between Boone and Banner Elk near Sugar Mountain. It's a quiet, well-kept setting on a large wooded lot — deer sightings are common, and a creek in the neighborhood is audible from the deck (fishing there is reserved for homeowners). The location puts the whole High Country within reach: Blowing Rock, Linville, and downtown Boone are all a comfortable drive away.
Guest Access
The whole home is yours - all bedrooms, the game room, both decks, and the hot tub - except for a locked owner's closet. Feel free to enjoy the entire property!
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Find us
A car is a must, and free parking is available right on the property. Three ski resorts — Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mountain, and Beech Mountain — are within about 30 minutes, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is about 15 minutes away. Downtown Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk are all a short drive, with Mast General Store, Tanger Outlets, gem mining, whitewater rafting, and Tweetsie Railroad among the local favorites. Moses Cone Memorial Park has some of the best hiking around. Roads at elevation get snowy, so 4WD or AWD is HIGHLY recommended November through March.
