Good to know
Willow Ridge Hideaway came out of a full renovation, and it shows in every room. The kitchen is new. All four bathrooms are redone. The appliances are 2025 LG, the hot tub went in new in 2026, the stone fire pit is new, and the paint is fresh throughout. What did not change is the bones of the place: a real log cabin with a standing-seam metal roof, two dormers, vaulted pine ceilings and a porch that wraps most of the way around. The other thing this cabin has is position. Downtown Boone and Appalachian State are about ten minutes away. So are Banner Elk and Valle Crucis, home of the original Mast General Store. Blowing Rock is twenty minutes, Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain about twenty-five. A morning hike, an afternoon in town and dinner somewhere else entirely all fit into the same day without a long drive between them. The Willow Valley Executive Par 3 golf course is directly across the street. What Is New - the kitchen, with 2025 LG appliances throughout: refrigerator, gas range, microwave and dishwasher, plus quartz counters, subway tile and a large island with seating. All four bathrooms, with new vanities, tile and fixtures, two glass walk-in showers with rainfall heads, and heated tile floors and a heated towel rack in the main-level en-suite. A new hot tub, a new stone fire pit, a gas grill, two propane patio heaters, a full-size LG washer and dryer, and keyless smart-lock entry. Main Level - the heart of the cabin. The new kitchen opens into the living and dining areas, where a stacked stone fireplace climbs to a vaulted pine ceiling and the loft looks down over the whole room. The main-level bedroom has a ceiling fan and a fully renovated en-suite bath with heated tile floors, a heated towel rack and a glass walk-in shower. A powder room and the laundry closet sit just off the hallway. Step out to the wraparound porch for the outdoor dining table, the lounge seating and the gas grill. Upper Level - a second bedroom under a vaulted pine ceiling with its own leather loveseat, a chandelier, dormer windows and a renovated en-suite bath with a second walk-in shower. The adjoining loft holds a sofa and a real desk, so someone can work while the cabin wakes up below. Lower Level - where the trip gets loud in the best way: a game room with air hockey, foosball, a cabinet dartboard, a game console and board games, a sectional sofa for movie nights, a full bathroom, and a built-in bunk nook with three beds and drawers underneath. This level has its own mini-split, so whoever claims it can set their own temperature, and the door opens straight out to the hot tub. Outside - the covered lower patio holds the new hot tub, sheltered from rain and snow, with Adirondack chairs and a propane heater alongside. Up on the deck there is a gas grill, more seating and a second heater. Down the slope, a new stone fire pit on its own gravel terrace, ringed with chairs, with the woods closing in behind it. Family Ready - children and infants are welcome, and so are your dogs — up to two, under 50 pounds, non-aggressive breeds. The game room takes care of a rainy afternoon, and the golf course across the street is open to the public with walk-ins accepted. Getting Comfortable - central air conditioning and propane heat throughout, with a mini-split on the lower level. Skybest 500 Mbps fiber internet handles video calls and streaming for the whole group. Smart TVs are provided — bring your own streaming logins (Netflix, Hulu, Prime). The kitchen is stocked with a Keurig, a drip coffee maker, and everything you need to cook a real meal. A Note On Stairs - this is a three-level log cabin with stairs between the levels and no elevator. Entry to the main level is step-free, and the main-level bedroom means at least one bedroom and one full bath require no stairs at all.

Neighborhood
Willow Creek Estates is a scenic residential and log home community in Vilas, NC — a private mountain setting of sloping terrain and mature trees, about 10 minutes from downtown Boone and Appalachian State University, 10 minutes to Banner Elk and Valle Crucis, and 20 minutes to Blowing Rock. The Willow Valley Executive Par 3 golf course sits directly across the street, open to the public with walk-ins accepted. Expect tall trees, deep shade in summer, real color in October, and the occasional deer or wild turkey in the yard. It is a genuinely central spot — close enough to town for dinner and groceries, far enough up the mountain that the evenings are quiet.
Guest Access
All spaces are available except for locked owner's closets — feel free to enjoy the entire property. That includes all three levels, the porches and decks, the hot tub, the fire pit, and driveway parking.
